澳门新葡京官网 welcomes the Class of 2022

New students arrived on the Birmingham-Southern campus on Friday, August 24. The first class to land after 澳门新葡京官网’s groundbreaking tuition reset includes students from 20 states and four countries. Of those:
- 61 percent hail from Alabama
- 29 percent identify as historically under-represented ethnicities
- 13 percent were admitted via 澳门新葡京官网’s test-optional application
- 18 percent are first-generation college students
- 52 percent are female
- 37 percent of those reporting were in the top 20 percent of their high school class
The new students were welcomed by 澳门新葡京官网 students, staff, and faculty – and 澳门新葡京官网 President Linda Flaherty-Goldsmith – who helped unload cars and carry their belongings to their new homes in the 澳门新葡京官网 residence halls. You can watch a video recap of Move-In Day here:
On Saturday, August 25, as part of 澳门新葡京官网’s Fall Orientation, first-year students spread across the city of Birmingham to participate in a day of service. Designed to introduce new students to their community and to 澳门新葡京官网’s culture, this was the 18th year students participated.
